Hay fever

When is hay fever not hay fever?

When its all year round!

That wasn’t a trick question, Allergic Rhinitis can be pure misery, it can also have multiple causes including pollens but not exclusively pollen. If this is you please look at Allergic Rhinitis section.

Hay Fever is described by many symptoms, but is defined by only showing when a particular pollen season is around.
This season for you could be from early March to late September i.e. all pollens.
Usually people have either grass pollen, weed pollens, Tree pollens, Flower pollen or Rape seed pollen (yellow fields) or a combination of the above.

Symptoms

  • sneezing
  • roof of mouth itches
  • poor sleep
  • Fatigued
  • swollen eyes
  • itchy eyes
  • headaches
  • blocked nose
  • blocked ears
  • brain fog

You don’t have to have them all, even 1 is miserable enough.
At Feelwell I see people that anti-histamines just don’t work for.
It can be complicated sorting hay fever, as there can be lots of pollens involved, so samples of the pollens that effect you have to be found. This can be done easily but it is a process not a magic wand.

How do we treat Pollens?

The treatment is the same as all other allergens, basics have to be cleared 1st to ensure you are healthy before we can treat pollens.

There is usually an emotional/stressful event that will need clearing.
Hay Fever usually develops the year after stressful events like exams or separation ect. This will be cleared as well, if it is relevant.

You will be cleared on the generic samples of pollen that I have and then you will be asked to bring samples of pollens around your home and work (how to do this will be explained) then they are added to the mix and you will feel the benefit ASAP.
